There's no character or style of character more imitated than Peter Parker, Spider-Man. The early run of Amazing Spider-Man is so influential, and so relevant that even today's Spider-Man writers wish they could go back to that age.

Today is a pale imitation, of course, which is a shame for younger readers wishing that the excellence could go on. But even still, in this era of drawn-out storylines, and pseudo-intelligent writing styles, Spider-Man is still the most enjoyable character to read and root for.

Spider-man and Batman are tied, for different reasons.

Batman is the one you wish you could be (minus the dead parents, of course). An ordinary guy who used his brains AND his brawn (and his billions of dollars) to make a difference.

Spider-man is the one you are (minus the superpowers), and therefore he's incredibly relatable.
