    Spider-Man 2099 009

Amazingly spectacular cover! Nice fast pace setup to this new arc that's thankfully not in the present and -yet in a perplexing/pleasing twist- not in the future we expected. It moves past Spider-Verse in a sentence which is for the best here. Meeting and greeting the Maestro (for sorta the 2nd time) was a hoot and a holler; that's 'engaging fun dialogue with Maestro' and a 'lot of screamworthy soulless smashing by him'. A quick but worthy read.

I enjoyed it too.

Can somebody recap me that previous team-up tale with Captain Marvel and Rick Jones that was footnoted? tia

PAD's Captain Marvel Vol. 4 #'s 27-30 story "Time Flies" from 2002. I had hoped that this would never be discussed again, as Time Flies has a continuity conflict with John Francis Moore's X-Men 2099 series, concerning the character Jordan Boone. He was origianlly created by PAD in Spider-Man 2099 Vol. 1 as Miguel's Alchemax rival, who later became Loki 2099 for the Fall of the Hammer crossover and was intended to go back to normal under PAD again afterward, but somehow instead fell into John Francis Moore's hands in his X-Men 2099 series, who travelled to Las Vegas and evolved from Loki 2099 to the mischievous Halloween Jack. When Time Flies came out, I mentioned HJ and all to PAD, and he told me that he didn't care about the continuity conflicts, just that he was his character, amd was never supposed to have been lost from him like that post-FotH, so he's having him here, despite the conflicts.

S-Man also went to Future Imperfect and met Maestro in Exiles. That S-Man was from an alternate 2099 (Earth-6375) where his identity was exposed, and had to leave/join with the team to avoid capture by Alchemax.

And more importantly, can somebody dish on that "strange" looking "dish" we're suppose to remember that's on the last page? tia

That's Strange 2099, Sorceress Supreme of 2099. She appeared in Spider-Man 2099 Vol. 1 #'s 32-33.

Strange 2099 was from the first spiderman 2099 series....somewhere around the 30s range of issues.....she is a cool character....
