Amazing Spider-Man 017

This was a strong issue. Generally agree with the positive points of the youtube review so don't have to waste too much typing time here. It's surprising how Anna Maria has caught up to Sajani with my alottment of Q-Rating points for them. Like the youtube also noted, it was inspired/ironic [and deeply disturbing/disappointing sadly] to have AM and PP on that swinging splash page in front of MJ.

S.W.A.T.-bots! HA! Nice ring to that.

Fun to see Living Brain is back and now has a new storyline with the tech plans it has stored.

The Ghost! Well done return to a creepy, evil, formidable supervillain adversary. And he's relatively unorthodox to go up against Spider-man which is potentially refreshing - and hopefully proves to be worthy next ish when he actually does. He is totally excused the Wolverine copycat colorlight claws considering how character strong he was this 'round.

It's great how the backup is creatively tied to the main story again by a significant detail. Felicia's comment that her power works better the more evil she acts is disconcerting - maybe it is no dream, no hoax and she really is lost to the dark side for the simplest of unsettling [& uncontrollable] reasons. That last panel Peeping Tom shot was amazing.

And not one but TWO letter pages!

Nice cover.

I miss Dad and Dan.

Best thing about this lackluster issue was the letter from a Mr. Knight letting them know the book flipping sucked and history would'nt be kind to this hoax reality.
