Amazing Spider-Man 018
Comparing it alone to the 'finales' of Avengers, New Avengers, FF, Hulk, Cap, and the X-Books(read so far) this 'finale' was better. And even on it's own - as an action packed adventure with quips and thwips, mixed in with typical Parker interactimg alongside his large, dedicated, ecclectic supporting cast - it was an enjoyable read.
Perfect cover, decent Ghost battle and comments, clever Sajani save, story seed with casually allowing LB to upgrade (well potentially if Secret Wars doesn't make all this moot), Clayton/Marconi team-up, Anna Maria looking out for Parker and Clayton and Sajani - "COVERING MY BUTT LITERALLY"
, how the end of Parker Industries played out (well since it's felt presdestined and inevitable anyways).
And talk about evil whack jobs! As disagreeable as Black Cat's character redirection has been handled, her backup story arc has been oddly compelling to hopefully find out WHY she's gotten so cuckoo cat crazy. She just crossed a scary seriously-can-it-get-any-worse-for-her line when she sets Aunt May on fire. That's as really redoubtably reprehensible as ever.
I miss Dad and Dan.
another tale full of sound and fury, signifying NOTHING.
It's sad to see a great Dave and Bob Iron Man villain such as the Ghost to be the victim of such bad artwork, but then the whole issue was an eyesore.
Of course a lot of this could be rendered moot as Secret Bore is now happening and Marvel gets to reshuffle their trademarks and characters around in a feeble attempt to allegedly reboot the Marvel Universe.
Pitiful, Marvel...truly pitiful.
