A lot of important stuff happens in ASM#52.LR, not so much ASM#52

We see more of the fall out of the Order of the Web recovering from their demonic possession, Mary Jane meets with Doctor Kafka, who verifies Norman's assurances he's sane, and listens to his pleas to help Harry. Harry over in ASM#52 beats Peter up, strikes a deal with him to remove the sins from the other Spider-Heroes, and then snaps his neck

MJ brings up that Harry has done everything to escape the shadow of his father, and has been seemingly 'fine' for a while

There also appears to be a demonically possessed version of Mary Jane stalking Doctor Strange and the others when they visit the Astral Plane

My thoughts:

A very, very lean edition of Amazing Spider-Man, it appears the true stars of the title are all the supporting cast these days, there's not much going on with Peter at all. Perhaps the well has run well and truly dry on Spidey as we've known him, void of any consequence or consistency in the post-OMD world, it is not time to draw him closer to actual truth, and actual consequences, so consistency can become one with his character again.

And kudos to the team for keeping Harry's post-OMD characterization in mind, and hopefully keeps his fanbase in mind, as MJ brings up the progress Harry has made over the years to escape his father's shadow, but Norman teases us there are further secrets for Harry that we are not privy too.

Much more important stuff happens in one issue, the other is a brainless physical shmoz. Kindred has had so many upper hands on Peter, psychologically, and now physically, that it all feels a bit repetitive and drained, Peter has yet to score a decisive 'win' and I don't think that's as yet foreseeable. He needs to face the worst before he can be at his best, and hopefully next week we get an answers to a decade long conundrum. Enough with the teasing, today may be a good day to die, but it irks me it's not yet a fine day for answers!

So far the .LR issues have been very good. I was wary of buying them as I was underwhelmed by this in the past (AU being the worst) but they fit in as a good side story to the main story. Hopefully the end of the LR story fits in with parts 6 of the main story.

Overall, this has been a really exciting story. Looking forward to the Mark Bagley issues.
