| > WHAT HAPPENED TO THE LIZARD?! And what could he (or more accurately, it, after recent ASM events) possibly have to do with what has been battering Ben Reilly around? Only one issue to go, so you know, BIG STUFF IS HAPPENING HERE!!!|
It's another girls are better than boys story. Still all the rage in all the mediums. Misty, Colleen, Maxine and Janine get all the best showings over Peter, Ben, Mike, and Marcus. Who knows what's what with that Beyond Door Z "Connor's Cover Creature" -pending further (better) exposition- as it's regenerating faster than Wolverine ever dreamed. BTW, what backissue did Morbius 1st have those kind of wings? Or is it artistic license? Spider-Ben's memory gapes and proactive vengeance is still, up front, keeping Real Spider-man's in the back seat of this arc's journey.
Looking forward to Ben and Jan running off to Limbo again. Maybe the other, other Spider-man will follow soon enough. Fingers crossed.

I think one of the points of the Ben Reilly character is that it trades off the disloyalty of the fans. Here is a man who is basically Peter Parker with an even more depressing existence than Peter. The fans love Peter because of all his virtues and his humour and his relatability. They would CLAIM that anyway. But Ben has all these things and has been treated horrifically and still keeps trying to rise again and again. He is inspirational. But for all that Ben knows he is not the real Peter Parker, his memories and values are inherited not lived. That is why the new plotline with Ben finding his own morality potentially based on his love for Janine is so important.
I am worried that Beyond will take even Janine and Ben's love for her. This would utterly destroy him making him a true emotional 'chasm'. It would be horrible resolution for this character who is one of my favourites.
