Just curious... Does the DCU actually view/portray Superman as beings its "Christ" figure, as being the one who by example and powers is closest to being such in the DCU?

Not saying that Superman is Jesus, but is he the one whose defined role/purpose/powers established, fits the bill closest in the DCU?

And does Supes see himself as being such among those he assists/aids in the DCU?

Pre-Crisis I'm not sure how the general populace saw him, other than the greatest of all heroes. Post-Crisis, when he made his public debut, people saw him as a Christ like figure. They swarmed him and wanted him to do all kinds of things that he cannot do. This came up again in "Funeral For A Friend" and "Regin Of The Supermen". There Doomsday was seen as the devil and Superman would come back like Jesus.
