Reply Subj: Old question regarding Superman Prime Posted: Thu Nov 22, 2007 at 01:33:16 pm EST
> Now many you have said that Superman Prime cannot breathe in space because their is no air, however, we know that comics don't follow reality. The link I copied below from a previous post clearly shows Superman Prime in space at the Source Wall....talking to Mxy. Appears to be his temporary home, or sorts. Now, Lobo can breathe in space, why can't Superman Prime? Pre-Crisis, it wasn't that the Earth-1 Superman could breathe in space, but rather that he didn't NEED to breathe. Post-Crisis that changed, and Superman did need air. I remember being shocked the time I read him say something like "If I run out of air, I'll die". At the time I hoped it was just a guess on his part, and he didn't realize he didn't need air. PrimeSlime's powers are a little unclear, since he's a pre-Crisis character. Do the pre-Crisis rules apply or not? Since the mainstream Superman can at least SURVIVE in space for a long time just by taking in a huge amount of air, we can assume that PrimeSlime can at least do that, if not just go without air entirely.
