Starting with this issue, the price of ACTION is now $3.99. Instead of the usual 22 pages of the main story, we were given only 20. Justifiying this price increase is the Captain Atom "Second Feature" (I like to call it a BACKUP), which is a mere 10 pages long. So in reality, I'm paying a dollar extra for the story I buy the book for, only to get two pages less of that same story. Additionally, I'm paying for a story I wouldn't buy on its own.
In spite of all the competition (videogames, DVD, cable TV, the Internet), it's still no wonder nobody buys comics anymore. Prices that historically rise faster than the rate of inflation, combined with asinine editorial decisions, are killing a once-great medium.

$1.99 at DCBS. Of course you'll have to pay for shipping, but if you're buying enough books per month, it would work out cheaper.
