Icon and Superman apparently have some sort of friendly secret relationship as well, in the new, merged reality... the two met seperately from both of their teams and worked out a secret deal to allow Icon and the Shadow Cabinet to achieve their goals against the League... Superman claimed Icon was someone he trusted completely when the League called him on it later.

The relationship is from "Worlds Collide" when Superman, Steel and Superboy teamed up with the Dakota heroes to stop Rift. They remember what happened back then and are still friends as a result.
