Quote:I'm surprised this board is so calm. I've seen many people blowing gaskets elsewhere. Still, I say here what I did there:
Quote:My gut tells me it is not as permanent or as drastic as the Collective Comic Internet ID seems to believe. That's not how DC or Marvel works anymore. This is likely a storyline that will run its course and nothing more.
I think its going to be a "wait and see" approach. If the sales improve and continue to improve I could see them actually keeping the new history going.
I would actually welcome the new history. I actually wouldn't mind some drastic changes happening either
Wild ideas -
Superman has actually been around since 1938 but he only looks about 35 because he ages slower then normal humans. Clark Kent is actually his 3rd or 4th secret identity he's established. Every 20 to 30 years or so he moves to a new city and sets up a new id for himself.
Bruce Wayne started as Batman in the 80s. He's now in his 50s and serves as a mentor to the current Batman, Dick Grayson.
A few other random thoughts I wonder about though
Digital comics are coming out the same time as print. While I still think people prefer print I think this will hurt some of the comic shops. Especially if they make them easily accessible on notebooks, ipads, tablets, nooks, etc.
I'm curious how they are going to debut the heroes. The first issue is Justice League so it seems like when we're introduced to the new DCU the heroes are already established in the communities they live in probably.
I wonder if his parents will be alive or not. I hope they are
I'm betting Clark won't have his wedding ring anymore. I'm disappointed that he won't.
I wonder if he'll of ever been Superboy. I'm indifferent about it but if I had a choice I'd prefer it if he was only Superboy in the 30th century and not active in Smallville.
Quote:And I stand by my comment that they will not permanently renumber ACTION COMICS or DETECTIVE COMICS (probably not SUPERMAN or BATMAN, either). They are too historical.
I hope so.
