and instead went with this story, that, for all intents and purposes, is irrelevant to the current DC story or to the actual events in the DCU.

I'm not sure what this has to do with anything. One, with Superman seemingly getting the reboot in September, it makes, "for all intents and purposes," any Superman story soon to be "irrelevant." And two, who cares? There was a day when stand alone stories and stories that, occasionally, stepped out of the ongoing progressive narrative to tell a tale set in the past, future or completely separate timeline, were not only the norm and accepted but welcomed by many readers. And I know I'm not alone in wishing comics would go back to that.

This is, of course, probably due to all the flack DC has been getting for having Superman renounce his citizenship in an earlier comic this year. But it is STUPID and DUMB. Out of all of the things DC has done in the past few years, this is the worst. They've nixed a story that would've shown the resiliance of Arab Americans to be American heroes in a time of crisis because they're afraid of Fox News saying something racist and arab-phobic.

I'm not an immigrant, but I am the son of Immigrants who looked to Superman as a someone who I could relate to. He came with nothing to this country to help others and I supported DC comics either consciously or subconsciously because of this clear and beautiful ideal of America as this place that supports those who worked hard and helped others.

This change has disillusioned me to DC. It shows that DC is run by people who support the notion that Arab = Terrorist by nixing this story specifically for the reason that it would show two immigrants working side-by-side to make the America a better place.

We don't know why the story was nixed. Yes, it is easy to point at the "Muslim hero" thing, particularly in light of ACTION COMICS #900. But given that the very next issue of SUPERMAN had Superman getting all doe-eyed over the flag and the "American Way," who knows? Plus, we don't know how Sinbad Sharif was portrayed. Or how Superman was portrayed in reaction to him. Or much of anything, really, about the story. Even more, there's rumors the story was nixed for far more ridiculous (but, sadly, believable) reasons. So, who knows outside the walls of DC Comics? We fans don't know anything but rumor, conjecture and supposition.

Grow a spine, you stupid, stupid cowards!

Knock off the personal insults.
