I'm a reader of Supergirl and Superboy however I will be buying Action Comics and Superman in September also.
I'm not liking the fact that both Ma & Pa Kent are dead.
What's the point of that?! It cuts off Clark's ties to Kansas; an area of America which made Clark who he is.

That maybe true but maybe he will still have ties to his child hood friends. Only time will tell.

I was all so very eager for the DC relaunch but now I can say DC have taken one step back in this whole endeavour.
52 steps forward, 1 step back.

I agree but I am still looking forward to what DC has in store for DCNu Superman. I must say that it took some getting used to when John Byrne revamped Superman back in 86 and kept the Kents alive. We have been so used to the Kents giving Clark advice and keeping him grounded that we forgot that even though Pre-Crisis Supes lost both his parents while he was still Superboy he still turned out to be the inspirational hero that we know and remember.

I believe Superman is destined to become the best that we can be and strive for because he will take what he has learned from his Smallville upbringing and use it where ever life takes him. Sure he may be a little more isolated now at this point in time but the optimist in him will shine through eventually.

Perhaps if DC allowed for the bronze age version of the character to survive the Crisis like they did with Batman by keeping most of his history in place he would not need so much tweaking and fixing now.
