is the fact that Snyder talks like he knows things when he blatantly doesn't.
Sure, Superman has killed in the comics. But this is a character that had, at least in '78, 40+ years of history. The way he talks makes it sound like Donner/Mackewicz pulled their version of Superman out of their ass and not the comics. Yes, things were changed (Krypton, it's technology, Luthor) but that's what happens in adaptations. But I'd wager to bet most people who loved Superman: The Movie (myself included) do so because it either A) reflected what they thought of Superman via the TV show and comics or B) was our gateway to the comics, which ended up supporting the portrayal of the character on-screen (as it did with me, as I grew up on Pre-Crisis and Post-Crisis Superman comics).
And I'm sorry, but for something striving not to be "fun or funny", it sure had a lot of moments that were trying to play that way (or was Lois' 'joke' after the kissing scene not meant to be comedic?)... and if the MOS Hope Alien was meant to be a real hero, I would've expected him to... I don't know... actually try to save people's lives or show a hint of concern for them in the battle of Metropolis?
Or is it just me?

Think that Synder and DC saw just how effective Nolan was with having a gritty and determined bats, so decided to have that tone throughout the DC Movie realm..
I had no problem with kal forced to kill off Zod, so would be open to that take on Superman, but would like to also see him played up as being the Anti bats, that while he will do the hard stuff that must be done to sto[ the evil guy, that when we leave the movies, we should know that there was a profound difference on how bats and Supes viewed their roles of being heros!
