It wasn't really a Superman (or Clark Kent) show, IMO.

It was a Buffy/Dawson's Creek hybrid that used the trapping of Superman.

The whole thing was a giant c--- tease, if you'll pardon my language. It's whole shtick was alluding to some greatness (that the viewer should breathlessly know about), but never attaining greatness.

Similarly, I don't really consider Lois and Clark a legit Superman show. It was simply using trapping of Superman as a chick-flick Moonlighting type deal.

The Superman Franchise would have been better off without both those shows. Both were big nothings.

Actually enjoyed both shows, as while they had their bad moments, both didi show us a Superman who was really powerful, and inspired others while fighting against bad guys!
