Surely this news is fake. Not that it is out of the realm of possibility for comics. Having characters switch their sexual orientation after years and decades comes off really sad and desperate and though I am not a follower of Jon Kent I have seen plenty of evidence he definitely has been heterosexual in the relationships shown. Neither gay or bi-sexual unless I have missed it. That is of course possible. Marvel has done the same thing with mixed results. Ice Man comes to mind. Others like Moondragon and Phyla Vell were no big deal since that aspect of their life were not really explored very much. The heirs lawsuits were settled years ago and I thought it was for a considerable sum which came with an agreement to stop any future lawsuits. However I do not know if it covered both parties of heirs or just the Seigel ones.
One thing I am sure of is that Warner/D.C. will never give up the rights on Superman in any form or fashion. Like Disney and the mouse no stone will be overlooked to get it done. Given the tangled laws in trademark and copy right ownership issues I suspect nothing may ever be truly settled. Superman and Batman and to a lesser degree Wonder Woman they are the very foundation of superhero comics for the entire industry. Anyway I see no upside in the direction the article says D.C. is going. If it happens my guess is D.C. is going to see the reaction and be ready to do another Crisis universe changing event. Maybe they are planning it no matter the response. Didn't they do that after the Superman renounces his American citizenship run? Or did they just say it was a Else Worlds type of thing?
