DC hasn't paid the Siegel and Shuster heirs bupkis? Haven't they settled like 3 different times? How many more times is it going to come up?
See, people want to say it's all agenda-driven but at least half of it is that they don't want to pay royalties for legacy characters so they just want to create replacements. But they want all the fandom to seamlessly keep following the new version as if there's no difference.
Maybe if the legacy payments become too great, Warner will let Supermam finally slip into the public domain.
What I don't understand (unless I read it wrong) is why he's seemingly implying that DC would somehow get out of their agreement with the Siegels and the Shusters by having a new Superman. They still created the concept of Superman. You could have some all new character become Superman and it doesn't get you off the hook with the two families.
