wsa it ever shown who Ignition was, from where, and is the Mxy that we know and love today same one as form the COIE then?

I think Ignition was a character that just faded away, like others of that era. Though the question of whether Mr Mxyzptlk is the same as the pre-crisis version seems to be open-ended, DC have actually suggested he IS the same Imp, and the Peter Thomasi/Dan Jurgens story from a few years ago seemed to be saying so too. The idea is that the Mxyzptlk we see in various continuities (animation, comicbook, etc) are all the same Mr Mxyzptlk. Being from the 5th Dimension seems to mean he is outside of continuity.

Weren;t those such as the Guardians/new gods and Imps not affected by the various reboots and the COIE?

Originally they did remember the multiverse, Darkseid created the new Parasite as he remembered the original. The Guardians were said to remember the original Multiverse too in the 'Millenium' mini-series. The Linear Men were also revealed to be aware of it, and of course The Psycho-Pirate...

So the Imps and Guardians and new gods, and Dr Manhatten all shouild ne outside COIE then?
