I agree. Though the problem as I see it is that because Jon is a character with such a turbulent history and has been badly managed since Brian Bendis had his way with him and wrenched him away from his still new audience, that this new layer doesn't do him any favours. It just adds another kink in a character that keeps being pulled away from whatever was left of his audience... after Bendis, the Legion, and now being made the star of Action Comics, they needed to fully establish him and give him badly needed stability and roots before they threw this latest shift on his audience. Such as it was.
The character was one I thought had a lot of value back when Dan Jurgens and Peter Thomasi introduced him just a few years ago as a ten year old just come into Superman's world, today though he is barely relatable on any level... as we just don't know him anymore.
Would have much preferred to have Jon stay as a 10 year old boy, and show to us him and Clark going thru normal teenager trials and tribulations!
