I understand that "Truth, Justice, and the American Way" will be changed to "Truth, Justice, and a Better Tomorrow". I was even surprised to learn that some people aren't happy with it. (At least according to what I've seen on youtube)
With DC (and now Warner Bros.) wanting to create the biggest possible worldwide audience with their IP, changing the slogan makes good marketing sense. "The American Way" not only sounds dated, but I can imagine sounds about as appealing to non Americans as saying "For Queen and Country" sounds to my American ears.
How do you guys on this board feel about this?
I've never been too bothered by changes like that. I remember in Superman Returns when Perry White says "Truth, Justice, and all that stuff" or something, people were offended.
Like the thought of removing "Under God" from the Pledge of Allegiance makes people mad, even though it was something tacked on after the fact and not part of the original intent. Some food company a year or two ago used the slogan "One Nation, Indivisible" and it bothered people. Slow news day, I suppose.
