It's called: "Batman/Superman: Worlds Finest." Isn't it's Superman's turn for top billing? Or jeez, why not just call it "World's Finest."

As a marketing and sales point World's Finest Comics works for me!

I think launching a title simple called 'Batman/Superman' isn't the best sales method as all it states to the marketplace is that is yet another Batman led book, and all things considered it is an odd marketing choice to strongly imply that Batman is leading Superman, that Batman is a superior figure and hero to Superman...

If on the other hand the title of your book is "World's Finest Comics" it removes that sense of competition and comparison. It becomes a book starring Batman and Superman, not just another Batman led title thrown out to celebrate the mighty Bat...

I grew up reading World's Finest Comics so it has a special resonance with me. When Jeph Loeb relaunched the title I enjoyed it for similar reasons I enjoyed 'World's Finest Comics' - the focus was on the plot, and with a dash of what made Superman and Batman such a strong partnership in the DC Universe. That book lost itself as it went on, and I have not enjoyed a Batman/Superman book since that book finished.

Modern writers don't seem to be able to get to grips with these two characters when paired up, but Mark Waid inspires me to take a look as he has a good grasp on what makes partnerships work in comics. He also wrote a fine 'Brave and the Bold' series a few years ago demonstrating this! \(beer\)
