Asgard and everyone in it returns with the exception of Odin? If Sif, Balder and The Warriors Three can be killed in combat and still return why would Odin remain "dead"? I guess I'm in the minority here but I hope Odin does return as the king of Asgard. I dread the idea of King Thor. I want to see Thor bouncing around Earth, Asgard and the cosmos kicking butt not, sitting on the throne settling disputes between farmers and working on treaties with other leaders. I don't think Thor has to be King to show growth and maturity. In the real world most of us mature long before our fathers pass and the same can be true of Thor.
IMHO strict/rigid fathers don't slow the journey to adulthood. They quicken the pace.
