> I rather enjoy the thought of Thor adventuring with Sif, Balder, and the Warriors Three, as mentioned.
As would I, but not as an origin tale.
> > Secondly, if this movie is a precursor to Thor on Earth (say in a sequel) then the Thor of the first movie is a bragging bully (to deserve banishment to Earth). That means Thor of this movie is no hero. In the event that they totally remove the need for Thor to be banished then it poops over so much continuity that you may as well call it Ultimate Thor.
> I think Thor was still a hero to the realm of Asgard before his banishment, otherwise he wouldn't be worthy to carry Mjolnir.
How do you know he WAS able to wield Mjolnir immediately before his banishment?
> > No it sounds like a Lord of the Rings bandwagon jumping, 'Galactus cloud' cop-out that has nothing to do with the Mighty Thor and is simply just Thor.
> Honestly, I would LOVE to see a Thor movie done in the Lord of the Rings style. The warriors of Asgard battling the Frost Giants, or Surtur's forces, in an epic fantasy-style battle would be great!
Of course it would. Simply that it would have nothing to do with the origins of the Mighty Thor.
> That being said, I'd like the movie to end with Thor being sent to Earth, leading into an Avengers movie. If they establish Cap, Thor, and Iron Man ahead of time (and we know Iron Man will be for sure), they can jump straight into an Avengers movie without spending the whole time introducing the characters. They'd have to introduce a couple more Avengers, but the Big 3 who the movie would most likely revolve around would already be established.
Perhaps, although it seems as if Thor has the most to give up for the Avengers.
