Again, this one says there's no Don Blake. (Thank Goodness)

Sounds pretty good so far, IMHO.

When skurgesaxe says he likes Don Blake I have to concede that ol' Don must have some appeal to a group of rational people. This latest incarnation is too new to hate plus he hasn't manifested the annoying helplessness in both love and war that his original version did.

However, the idea that an all Asgard version of the movie "poops" on the Marvel Thor is just well a little silly. No matter how long ago the myths were written, they are the basis for the character. Before Thor came to earth he was in Asgard. It may be that this ends up a pre marvel origin story.

The idea of holding back Asgard until the sequel kind of makes me chuckle too. The likelihood of a sequel is VERY LOW. There may be an Avengers movie but a Thor sequel? Unlikely. Our wingheaded friend just isn't as 6 year old friendly as Spiderman. He isn't a transformer like Ironman. He doesn't have the pop culture hold on America from the '30's that Batman and Superman do. He isn't a pseudo-goth like Blade. He doesn't enjoy the years of sword and sorcery fans that Tolkien did.
He is a unique adult hero. When he is portrayed that way he is successful. If he is portrayed in a mature way the movie will be successful but it won't generate the numbers in multiple attendance, toys etc that would make a sequel likely.

If you like Blake - more power to you. If you want to see Thor in New York rather than trashing Frost giants - fine. But saying a Thor movie set in Asgard "poops" on the Thor story - Marvel, Ulty, Chris Golden, or myhtic is a little hard to swal err - no- stoma--no ummm tolerate.
