Reply Subj: I finally undertand why UK is SO picky

UK wants them to use his script(s).

From what I recall they are really well developed. Form a multi movie arc that could become a franchise. And not too surprisingly are meticulously planned.

When you have a vision that clear and full it is very hard to tolerate any other version. Particularly when it doesn't seem as truly or lovingly created.

Good luck UK. I hope your stuff gets produced.

That said.

I don't care that Thor's journey into mystery origins included Don Blake. They also featured a Thor with pipe stem arms who looked like a refugee from the Hanson's. Anorexic Thor went away and so should Don.

I found the classic Don Blake boring. Dual identities were a convention of the sixties whose time has passed. If I want to see a lovesick Doctor I will watch Gray's Anatomy. 5 minutes of script with him will be 5 minutes I spend at the concession stand.

To learn humility Odin could send Thor to Earth stripped of his powers and he could battle a powerful foe without all his abilities ala his early encounter with Herculese. In fact a variation on Thor's journey to Pluto's realm (no it doesn't have to be Pluto it could be Hela or just some similar situation) would be great for proving him worthy to reclaim the hammer and his godhood. Much more interesting and NO DON BLAKE.

Thor's mother is Earth - he doesn't need anything else to tie him to us.

Thor was the greatest warrior of the Gods (including Tyr) so he would stand out if all of Asgard showed up in a football stadium dressed identically.

Anyone who thinks the Lord of the Rings has anything to do with this movie getting made is 100% CORRECT and we should cannonize Peter Jackson. If I have a choice between an Aragonesque Thor or NO THOR at all - and that IS the choice, I will take Aragonothor and smile.

So, a little sweet a little sour.

Howdy Punchdrunk! \:\-\)

> UK wants them to use his script(s).

Hardly. Firstly I don't have a full script, just a synopsis, and while I am sure I could write a full script given the incentive, I don't yet have that incentive.

> From what I recall they are really well developed. Form a multi movie arc that could become a franchise.

It was twelve movies, or more specifically four trilogies.

> And not too surprisingly are meticulously planned.

;-)

> When you have a vision that clear and full it is very hard to tolerate any other version. Particularly when it doesn't seem as truly or lovingly created.

There may be a grain of truth to that, but I would rather see it from the other side of the fence.

In my effort, I stayed as true to the origins of the comics as possible, using the most iconic villains. So obviously if you ask me what would be best for a Thor movie, it would be that. If I didn't think it was for the best I wouldn't include various elements.

> Good luck UK. I hope your stuff gets produced.

Unlikely, but thanks for the support.

> That said.

> I don't care that Thor's journey into mystery origins included Don Blake.

Thats okay as long as you understand that what you are really saying is I don't care for the origins of the Mighty Thor.

> They also featured a Thor with pipe stem arms who looked like a refugee from the Hanson's. Anorexic Thor went away and so should Don.

Irrelevant. You are referring the artistic style of the time, even circus strongmen were drew 'anorexic thin' compared to today's buffed up heroes.

It just makes me weep inside to hear people talking this sort of foolishness. \:'\(

Great stories are always about strong contrasts.

Utter rubbish. You can't learn humility in a day (especially not if you are thousands of years old and a bragging bully). You can be humiliated, but thats not the same thing.

> Thor's mother is Earth - he doesn't need anything else to tie him to us.

Is he going to stay at her house?

> Thor was the greatest warrior of the Gods (including Tyr) so he would stand out if all of Asgard showed up in a football stadium dressed identically.

Hardly.

If you want to watch Lord of the Rings then go watch it. I want to see a Mighty Thor movie, not Lord of the Aesir.

> So, a little sweet a little sour.

Keeps it interesting that way.
