Seems like it, but I just figured nobody believed Thor. They live in a world with others who have powers comparable to Thor but no mythic origins, after all.

True. But once THOR demonstrates his power, like say by manipulating the weather on a global scale all at once, nothing devastating per se mind you, that should convince everyone that at the very least his weather powers far surpass Storm of the X-men and they should also recall how in the past THOR has gone toe to toe with the Hulk and Juggernaut and even pushed Juggernaut back.

So at the least people should think of THOR as the highest classification level of superhuman...what was it, Omega? Or at least Omega+, presuming again that Omega is the highest classification level.

Or else they might actually start realing that he IS the God of Thunder \:\) I'm sure that now any doubt Iron Man had is gone \:\)
