In regards to Galactus, I can't remember, what is his current selection process to determine if a planet is worthy of consumption?

I remember awhile back he tried to avoid inhabited planets and consume life-less worlds.

It largely depends on the better judgement of his Heralds, I believe. I know in the What If where Thor was a herald, he picked worlds that had savage beasts and were not inhabited by mortal creatures like humans or humanoids.

Not sure about the others, but I know -or assume- that Stardust just picks any one, regardless of the inhabitants and sends Galactus there.

While I'm not sure if this is still the case or not, it used to be that the planet had to be capable of supporting life, even if there wasn't any real life on it.

Ok but the Surfer agreed to be his herald again to guide G to uninhabited worlds or assist a civilization in vacating their planet right?

If this is true, I wonder what's gonna happen when the Sufer finds a planet of beings that are unwilling to relocate?

As we have already seen (eg. Skaar), the Surfer is perfectly willing to let them die with a miniumum of regret. He'll still try and help where he can, but Galactus' needs clearly take precidence. Remember, when he became a herald again Galactus altered him to give him the will and resolve to do what had to be done. That's why he's more hard-core these days.

Thanks for the update. I haven't followed much of the Skaar storyline. So basically what your telling me is that the Surfer has "allowed willingly" to let G alter his conscience again?

Doesn't this make the Surfer as much of a monster as G to many in the universe?

The Surfer was pretty shook up after he found out that G altered him the first time and it resulted in "soul breaking" ramifications for him.

Wasn't it in the Annihalation series that the Surfer agreed to serve G once again? I thought the reason he agreed to be herald again was to guide G to uninhabited worlds. But based on your response, I'm wrong here.

Can you fill me in as to why the Surfer agreed to serve G again?
