Had a couple of kid free days and a previous post by Seeker (which I will be responding to soon) had me wondering about of a couple of things, and I have all the issues digital stored so I decided to give it a go.
Early on, along with Thor, Odin and the magic users all the major gods (Heimdal, Balder, Tyr, Sif, Executioner )except the Warriors Three, have shown some energy powers or referenced their internal energies. Some of them reference needing or having an enchanted weapon to channel their godly energies. Pretty much how Thor was shown for a lot of his history. I am currently in the 250's and it seems while Thor is definitely more powerful, the senior gods are no slouches and have shown a variety of abilities. Considering many senior gods from the Olympian and Heliopolitan pantheons have shown a variety of powers it makes sense that the Asgardians have them too. Maybe their warrior code prevents them from using them (but why is it ok for Thor?). I wish the rest of Marvels writers wold take the time to read these back issues, and incoperate them into some modern stories. Maybe I will update some profile info on Wiki \:\-\) [/quote

Bor's distaste with using his energy powers to expedite his fight with the DA is a great explanation for why you rarely see those abilities on display.
