Forgive me if this has been asked before but did anyone here prefer Ultimate Thor before they resolved the ambiguity of whether or not he was a god?

I really enjoyed the mystery and would have liked to see it continue. I realise that it would be quite difficult for such a character to carry their own title but in a team setting, especially The Ultimates as they were originally, he worked very well.

Cannot believe what happened to the Ultimates later one.

It was interesting at first. Thor was about the only person on the team whom you could say pretty much unequivocal was a true hero in the more modern western sense with out any major flaw. Millar wrote flaws in his characters, but to such an extent they became almost caricatures.

On the other hand, Ultimate Thor outside the book was more or less treated as a joke and only served to establish a new threat as being big and bad by having the crap kicked out of him after everyone stated how Thor was the most powerful metahuman on the planet. That got old fast. Loeb just flushed everything that was decent about him down the toilet.
