If this were just an issue of ticking off internet Thor fans, that's one thing, but Marvel should at least care about the bottom-line. I don't get it.

Comic book companies in general have pretty much said that they don't give a crap about what fans on the internet think, simply because they make up the "minority" of fans in general. Really, they're right. It's easy to blow hot air on the internet, but it's another to actually either write a snail-mail letter or drop the title in question all together.

The only way to really make an impact is through sales. And in this case... does anyone have a comparison of Thor's sales over the last few months? Because if Thor's sales aren't going down, then most readers are either very, very patient or oblivious to the delays.

Though my concern is if Thor's sales fall drastically, the title might be cancelled again. It'd be sending a mixed message to Marvel, but surely they're at least -or the more 'net savvy ones, like Ben Morse- are aware of the consternation amongst readers. Right?

Oh I get why they discount internet fandom. People that post will have strong views (good or bad) and not represent the typical reader.

What I'm saying is it doesn't matter if this is a top 10 book. If it only comes out 6-8 times a year it's no more profitable than a book selling half or two thirds as much but coming out 12 times a year. The only thing I can figure is that the trade sales are extremely high so Marvel puts up with it. At some point there must be a bean counter at Marvel that looks at this and decides that the delays are acceptable.
