There are absolutely no excuses for bendis if he really believes that, thor is so far beyond ares in overall powerset it's not true and in the past he could have beaten ares and indeed did so with a few punches even when ares strength was tripled in one issue.
The fact is if one of marvel's top writers and rest of marvel editor's are so ignorant about one of their longest serving charcters what does that say about marvel in general.I am glad to say i saw the light a few years ago and aprt from very odd issue of the hulk and current thor i stopped buying all their titles.
If they are willing to treat their long term readers with such contempt and obviously think we have dementia and cannot actually remember what we read for first 20 odd years or so then i will not help them line their pockets.
Another meltdown again, Paolo?
Ares has been getting a nice push, post Oeming, with very few straight up loses. All Bendis said, anyway, is that Thor, physically is not so much above Ares that he is going to beat up someone who casually tear the other God apart. Word in: casually.
Anyway, Bendis can believe what he wants, he writers the characters in quetsion and nothing says he cannot have his own opinion of it. In fact, i would say its more accurate than that laughable issue of Ares losing even when his strength was tripled.
