It doesn't have to make sense. It doesn't have to fit into continuity. There are no rules.
The writers are allowed to just make it up as they go along.
Marvel has said this numerous times.
To keep talking about continuity and consistency is like beating a dead horse.
I am not talking about continuity. I am talking about logic, and the intelligence of the story telling.
There is no intelligence, logical reason why punching a hole through the foundation of Asgard would reverse the odinspell and cause the whole floating island to come crashing down.
This is evidence to back up other's criticism's that: Bendis is great with street level stories, but not with characters that operate on high power levels.
