It might have been for the artistic "OH MY F'ing GOD" moment. But it just doesn't make sense.

Why not, it was a holy crap moment.

Sentry flying through Asgard, and having a floating Asgard with a hole through it - THAT would make sense.

One hole, possibly but Sentry has the power to destroy a city at least. Easily I would think, and with super speed I imagine it does not matter that much. He can do it. Not to mention his molecular control powers he could render it to rubble it short order I think.

Tearing a hole through the land wouldn't actually make it fall. It has nothing to do with what is keeping it up. Because it isn't being kept up by physical means. It's being kept up by magic. So physically tearing a hole through it doesn't make much sense to me. That's all. It doesn't really matter much I guess. I just wanted to point it out since to me it didn't really compute.

Fair enough, but magic is often tied to something physical. If you break the physical part and it is not meant to be by anything the spell breaks. I think it is immaterial simply because Sentry could and cantake out something like that fairly easily. He is more than powerful enough to do so. Anyone who has done what he has could do it. How quickly he did it was the point. I do not think it has to make perfect sense or explained that much really. Wether it takes one second or five seconds Sentry can do it.

I agree wholeheartedly. I felt that were were to get the impression that Sentry flew threw the core of the floating asgard causing it to literally fall in on itself. Once there was no more island, it would make sense that any spell holding it aloft would no longer be in effect. To me it made perfect sense.
