I haven't seen this mentioned by anyone to date, but doesn't it occur to everyone that the hammers we've seen pictured thus far bear some resemblance to weapons used by those in the pictures? For example, in the Herc/Juggernaut picture, the hammer looks like Herc's mace. As another example, the hammer in the Creel/Ms. Marvel/Giant Man picture has a chain, and thus evokes Creel's wrecking ball. Somehow, it seems, Thor's death/absence/defeat triggers weapons in the MU to transform themselves into character-specific knockoffs of Thor's hammer.

Comments? Thoughts?

According to the Marvel March 2011 solicitations

http://www.newsarama.com/comics/marvel-march-2011-solicitations-101222.html

for the Fear Itself: Prologue, it appears that Sin inherits from her father the Red Skull something related to finding the location of the Norse God of Fear. Also there are in Thor titles stories involving the Grey Gargoyle.

Then in the Marvel May 2011 solicitations:

it is stated for the Fear Itself #2 solicit that "Serpent Hammers" are going to be offered to those who would be "living avatars" of fear, consistent with images shown involving Thor opponents such as the Grey Gargoyle, Absorbing Man, and Juggernaut.
