Thus far, the Thor movie looks very promising, clearly on a EPIC scale. I have read some concerns with regard to some of the events on Earth...

1. Thor being taken down by a taser. While it is understandable that Thor just got tossed down to Earth by Odin, stripped of Mjolnir and his armor, and run into by a jeep, it still is a bit of a stretch that the god of thunder is felled by a taser. Understandable, but something that Thor fans really don't want to see.

2. The diner scene is funny. Some are having a problem with the reference to Facebook. I don't frequent Facebook and it is nothing more than an attempt at humor. And for what is worth, it is done by the right person in the group.

3. Throwing the mug to the ground, classic viking. Stuffing his face full of food? More like Volstagg. Now, if this was a steakhouse...

These cricisms aside, this movie is going to be Marvel's biggest blockbuster. The story appears to be solid. I'm not a big fan of 3D, but if adds to the story and the movie, then so be it.

The movie is well cast. It would nice if they revealed why the Destroyer was created as well as the power level of the Destroyer. After all, this was Odin's primary weapon against the Celestials.
Let's face it Hulk fans, your boy, powerful though he is, couldn't stand up to the Destroyer or the Celestials, something that a certain Asgardian has done more than once. And this is why the taser scene is a bit troubling. And notice that Thor stands up to the Destroyer sans Mjolnir, sans his 'power'.

We see Odin in battle rather than sit back on his royal throne. The movie just gets better.

This definitely is going to be Marvel's best. Thor fans are not going to be disappointed. And Thor should see many new fans as a result of the movie.

The real bummer is that my company has decided to shut down the plant I work at the week that this movie is being released.
