marvel was never spot on with the myth. it was based off of it, but totally a new animal.

in this movie, the gods are super-advanced beings (from the lee/kirby run) with advanced weapons and technology. so advanced that it's magical. so advanced that tony stark can't even comprehend how it works. they came to earth during the time of the vikings. the locals, seeing these mighty beings for the first time and their powers, thought nothing else, but that they were gods. the locals copied the asgardian's traditions, looks and attitude. hence, the birth of vikings.

from the sources i've been hearing and some friends that already seen most of the movie, they said it's probably going to be one of the best movie of the year. i don't want to get my hopes too high, but damn...it sure is looking good!

I am concerned about the CGI. At times you could really tell they were in front of a screen. I do not see that as a good sign. Although the stuff filmed on Earth all looked good and I like the humor in it. The Asgard stuff looks cool too.
