..
I don't understand some of the reactions here..
I mean ok, it's not the Thor movie most of us wanted to see but at least it's a slightly different take than the norm and is actually SOMETHING......for us THOR FANS to watch, not UA Hulk vs.. but THOR.

And as far as Thor was when he was younger, we all know he was a brash, arrogant bastard sometimes so this type of scenario with Sif is very plausible.

I'm not saying you specifically Punch but I guess you just can't please some people no matter what you do....

I'm looking forward to buying it when it drops.

In the early parts of this feature Thor is willing to knowingly take advantage of and claim false victory against the warriors training him.

    Quote:
Then he threatens an unarmed Sif with a blade when she calls him on it.

    Quote:
This isn't the very legitimate idea of a youthful Thor with a temper problem - this is a spoiled brat lacking in any sense of honor.

    Quote:
So the heroes journey for him is to become worthy of the hammer by learning to be NOBLE.

    Quote:
    NO NO NO

    Quote:
This is lazy writing. Learn the character.

    Quote:
Both in Marvel and in myth - Thor is always noble.
What he has trouble with is arrogance and anger.
More anger in myth and more arrogance in Marvel.

    Quote:
Making him a spoiled craven prince flies in the face of every tales of Asgard story Marvel has put out.

To me this is far more egregious an error than a poor power showing.

I am conflicted about not supporting a Thor solo project.

There doesn't seem to be a good answer here -

Poor sales sends the message that Thor can't carry a project.

Supporting it gets us more of the same - and from what I've seen I really don't want more if it's in this vein.

Now I am going to get a bit sarcastic but I'm just having fun not yelling at anyone.

Hell I can't even be mad at Yost anymore since Avengers Earth's Mightiest Heroes has been generally excellent for Thor and everyone.

I am baffled as to why there are Hulk animated properties that are satisfying for the character's fans but Dr. Strange, Iron man and Thor seem to have such difficulty getting the same level of fan pleasing fare.

The formula is simple - portray the title character as he is portrayed in the comics - done.

Planet Hulk was great because it was uh, um, uh, oh it IS so hard to figure out isn't it? Oh yes, PLANET HULK!

Not child Hulk or nerd Hulk or serial killer Hulk or coward Hulk or some other watered down versions of the Hulk - it was Hulk at his best.
The only parts that were less than stellar where when they cut corners on giving us elements of Planet Hulk.

Ditto with Avengers Earth's Mightiest Heroes.

So why, oh why, is that lesson lost with these other solo character projects - most importantly - 'cause of what board we are on - Thor?

Why not against the Celestials or Thor saving Herc from Hel or GASP the Walt Simonson Surtur saga?

No, that would NEVER sell would it?

Never help put the character over to a broader public.

Surely the Brat of Asgard is the way to go right?

I shake my head at the amount of hard work and effort that goes into chasing the smallest return for a project like this.
