I am wondering when the writers are FINALLY going to give us a story-line that delves into the powers he gets from his mother.

Seriously, she's an Elder God, and Odin coupled with her specifically so that a child of their union would be born and that child would inherit greatness and powers from both of them.

Yet heretofore, we only seem to see Thor demonstrating all these years JUST the powers he inherits from his father from being Asgardian, and indeed, seems to demonstrate little aside from the powers invested in Mjolnir.

Lately, though, we're beginning to see hints of powers that could be derived from his mother, so I want to know 2 things, if you please:

1. What exact powers (not invested in Mjolnir) does he have that we can definitively state come from Odin?

2. What powers are we beginning to see that we suspect are from his mother?

3. Why does it only seem that we see powers exhibited from Mjolnir? Considering he's from Odin, raised by Odin, there should be powers from Odin on display, but as much as I can see, the writers over time have never taken the time to explain what is distinctily Odin-inherited, because everything I see seems to suggest it's Mjolnir-bequeathed powers that are always on display.

Thoughts?

Seriously, it's Thor's great strength, even among a race with great strengths, could have been inherited from his mom's genes. But, Thor's powers are already phenomenal as they are now, so, I don't think they need him to exhibit other "super-anything" just to prove that he is Gaea's boy.

Although, "unlimited strength" coming from the earth is not a bad idea.... Can any writer please do this?
