... on why you think these are two of the worst movie posters you have ever seen? I'm genuinely curious and a bit baffled honestly. They look good to me: simple, striking, memorable, classy. Nothing fancy, and I can certainly understand why you might prefer a different style or color scheme or whatever, but worst ever? I'm not seeing it. I always enjoy reading your posts and respect your opinion, so I'm not trying to get on your case here, I just want to better understand where you're coming from on this.

As for a SW/Indiana Jones style poster, I expect we'll see one at some point, probably closer to the movie's release. Marvel did posters in that style for Iron Man, but I think the early posters for that movie also focused on simpler images of the lead character. These are teaser posters mainly, with the goal of planting the movie's title and main character(s) in the minds of the audience. That's why they are so simple in design.

Here's my take as a design nerd:

The typography is pretty bad. Center style, uneven spacing of type, several different font sizes, no attention to kerning, bad font choice, etc.).

You almost never want to put large type over the main image. Making it semi-transparent doesn't help.

One of the posters has clear straight edges dividing the characters, while attempting to be one consistent image. A pro would at least blend the edges... but I'm thinking they wouldn't cut and paste photos they found on the internets.

They are decent for a novice with no training, but a professional wouldn't attach his name to them.
