It seems very surprising that Stark's attempts, in #501, to personally raise the walls of Asgard seem to be progressing so far. Would they even want a techy towers given all their ambivalence towards Midgard scientists? Well, except for SF-fan, Volstagg. Amora -and her magic ilk- will probably be not to pleased with sliding Enterprise-esque doors showing her up. Is this to keep Thor and Tony close friends, again, 'til the Avengers movie comes out? Or if it turns out that Odin is back permanent then he may say NO to Thor once again.

Still missing my brother...

...Tony's whole outlook on life, he's a futurist. His heart is probably in the right place but I'm not sure he understands what the essence of the Asgardians are. I'm sure for the most part the Asgardians respect human science and especially Tony's but that doesn't mean they would prefer it to their original lifestyle. I can see Thor accepting it but I can also see the more hardcore traditionalist Asgardians seeing this as even more of a watering down of their culture. As for Odin, well current depictions of Odin basically show him as a dick so he would probably tear down the walls himself and have Tony's head on a pike.
