    In Blood Oath, it is revealed that one of the properties of Mjolnir is granting Thor better control over the weather. We have often seen Thor stamping the hammer on the ground to achieve various effects, such as pinpoint lightning strikes. I'd assume he does so for a reason.

...since going by some people's opinion around here, Mjolnir contribution to Thor is being an over-glorified uru batarang. It's the legendary hammer supreme ladies and gentlemen but what does it do for Thor? Well, it come back to him and its so cool! Okaaaay.... would it be a crime if it was actually relevant in a genuine way?
