I don't see the burden. An inconclusive example versus four examples of Thor or Thor-like characters taking bullets.

Kurt Busiek unequivocally said that bullets would threaten Thor's life, rather than leave welts. Many of us were willing to concede that bullets could leave welts on Thor, which is why he tended to block them. Busiek wanted none of that.
