Yes, as I said I do not believe the gods are unbeatable. However, "supernatural" is by definition not reducible by terms understandable in the natural world, i.e., scientific method. The story portrayed this human collective as simply finding a unique energy pattern and then neutralizing an entire race of gods with no effort, including Odin.
I think that this story would have been more credible if either:
1. The gods were actually aliens with some unique genetic oddity that no one cold figure out until Richards, or
2. The collective attacked the Asgardians and lost. Then, Richards not grasping how he could lose as everything was mathematically in his favor, embraces and learns magic, taps into it and combined with science defeats the Asgardians. The merging of magic and science would thus prove too much for the Asgardians and they would fall.
I don't like this result either. But I think either scenario above would have paid respect to the Asgardians and maintained their stature in the Ultimate Universe.
