Granted, this is old news, but I just received the PS3 version of Thor God Of Thunder for Christmas. I realize that the game has received horrible reviews. But I must say, I find the game very entertaining and a lot of fun. The graphics are okay, the story thus far is good, and the action is not lacking.
I used to play video games a lot many moons ago. I don't play all that much these days, and perhaps that is why I find this game to be as entertaining as it is. Would I feel the same if the game was not about Thor? Probably not. But that aside, from what I have played thus far, I like the game. And I do recommend it to all Thor fans, especially given its price of just $19.99.
I haven't gotten the game myself, but I intend to eventually. I'm one of those guys that waits a year or two for prices to come down before buying games.
Speaking of reviews on the Thor game -- I've played quite a few games myself over the years, and while reviewers are a good resource to use for info, I've found that a lot of the time you have to take their opinions with a grain of salt. These guys play just about everything that comes out, and it's really hard for a new game to show anything they haven't already seen, thereby just about guaranteeing less-than-stellar reviews (unless it's a fanboy game like Final Fantasy or somesuch that always gets reviewed well). If it's a game that includes source material you're a fan of, it's probably a safe bet you'll like the game.
I just upgraded to Xbox 360 a year ago (from my old xbox), and i'm still amazed at the graphical prowess of some cheap games I got at that time --- games that date back to 2008 and 2009 can be graphically impressive, if you're not too spoiled
