Reply Subj: Everybody was commenting on how ruthless, cruel & downright unlikeable Odin was.

Who all agrees that he had pretty good reasons to be ticked off at his sons actions.

He returns to a kingdom in ruins. a huge number of his subjects are dead or missing. He notices that the mastermind of the plot has been ressurected by his heir.

That same mastermind that Odin has protected and allowed to sew chaos in his home for a lot more years than Thor has.

A few looming threats on the rise that nobody is dealing with. Yep I be extremely pissed off and be thinking of quick brutally efficent means of dealing with it. Good leaders can't be popular all the time.

Odin hasn't exactly been proactive either. I mean, he was content to sit things out and let the Earth be overrun by the Serpent before intervening. Now isn't he sulking in Asgard, having banished all of his people?

The city of Asgard may have been destroyed under Thor's watch, but it was never anything but a welcome place for its people.
