Subj: I couldn't agree more. And it wasn't just that storyline.

It really is a remarkable story especially when you consider the insipid slop Bendis turns out in 6 issue storyarcs. Back then writers gave the fans what they wanted and didn't break their arms patting themselves on the back while doing it. Architechs??? Who do Bendis and Fraction think they're kidding \(_\) ?

Shooter wrote some amazing stuff. The Doom/Attuma/Tyrak storyline lasted what -- three issues, with a single issue SuperVillian Team-Up cross-over? The Antman/Ultron storyline at 161-162, and then the later Ulton story at 170-172? Amazing. Hell, Shooter wrote the DEFINITIVE Grim Reaper story -- how long was it? ONE ISSUE.

Bendis gets props as an idea guy, but he's either incapable of writing a cogent story, or someone in Editorial (and I wouldn't put it past Marvel) told him to extend storylines to keep readers buying.
