...Thor throwing a few lightning bolts sans mjolnir and riding the winds like Storm every blue moon.   Right now he's just a big idiot with a magical hammer who doesn't have the sense to tap into its powers when he runs across a foe he can't bludgeon to defeat.  Him with mjolnir ain't much different than giving a monkey a machine gun lately.

I thought JMS came in and gave the new THOR a new direction and different attitude, also, he was highlighting Thor as more aggressive and tapping into his mother's powers, but that only lasted a couple of issues. Once the dust settled, Thor went back to his doofess "me hit you with hammer" persona.

The BIGGEST Thor change when Oeming evolved Thor when he sacrificed his eyes for wisdom. Thor became smart and wise and defeated villains with ease because of his new found rune and odinpower. Now, I don't want Thor to be that powerful, because he wouldn't even fit in the current Marvel universe. What I want is a writer that give Thor back some wisdom that he learned from his sacrifice. I want a writer that will give us something new (but old) about Thor that will make us drop our jaws and say, "This is one awesome Thor!" I'm really tired of the same old Thor that just uses his hammer to hit people. It's time to let Thor become more his mother and start utilizing his powers in a mature way.
