Characters don't necessarily inherit all of the abilities of their parents.  Thor really doesn't need additional powers-- he's already incredibly powerful.

I know he can't win them all, but man (Marvel) is really doing a number on him recently!

Well, honestly, I've only followed recent Thor here and there because I really dislike Fraction's Thor but what I have seen hasn't made Thor appear weak.

In the fight with Silver Surfer, he looked to be equal with the Surfer.  That's a high level of power.  The problem was how poorly the fight was choreographed rather than a poor relative showing.  It wasn't just Thor who was fighting dumb-- it was everyone (of note).

In FI, he took out Thing easily enough and was able to hold his own for a while with an armed Hulk, ultimately removing his immediate threat.  I can understand why a Thor backer would be disappointed in Thor apparently being overmatched in power, but it wasn't really disrespectful given the fact Hulk's power was boosted.

In dying, he took down a major powerhouse along with him.  Again the problem was the execution of the battle rather than Thor's power level.  Fraction can't write good battles, imo.

But like I said, I couldn't bear to follow Fraction's run, so I don't know what other instances you might be thinking of.
