You make mention of the differences of mothers so I'm curious as to the power difference between Hercules and Ares.  Even as a mortal Hercules was far more powerful than Ares.  He just lacked the healing factor.  As a god Hercules is more durable and everything.  Yet Herc's mother was mortal and Ares's mother was a powerful goddess.

Technically speaking.  Hercules is far weaker than Ares.  Based upon their natural power, Ares could and would easily take out Hercules.  Remember,in his natural state Hercules is a mortal Demigod.  At best, he might be 100 tons, if that much.  And his durability is much less than Ares.  Immortal Hercules is a product of Zeus granting Hercules god hood.  It was a power boost provided by Zeus.  Heck, in old Thor comic Pluto was able to boost Ares strength to 210 tons!  Image what Zeus could do if he wanted to give Ares a Power boost!
