Just seems that Marvel right now has NO editor left in charge, and that several conflicting stories are being told...

Or that they simply don't care. Their total disregard for continuity in favor of "telling stories without restrictions" (nobody told them that's 'what if' was for, apparently) has ruined marvel comics.
